We are a small breeder of both Short and Longhair Weimaraners based in Carlton River, Tasmania. We are located on acreage and close to off leach beaches were our dogs can explore and exercise as desired but generally they are just big couch potatoes.
Our foundation stock was from well established breeders of both show and sports lines and we continue to introduce fresh bloodlines with a preference for outcrossing our litters. We breed more towards show lines with some performance incorporated into their regular routine.
We aim to breed with sound temperaments that best suit families more so than hunting but acknowledge that they are instictively breed as Gundogs and therefore we continue to engage them in basic scent works and retrieving activities.
Weisngrey is a member of the Tasmanian Canine Association which is the state body of Dogs Australia (formally ANKC) and follow the Code of Conduct which includes breeding to improve type, temperament and health.
Health is also paramount in our dogs and whilst not compulsory, we Hip and Elbow score and DNA test for common health conditions and undesirable colour and coat types in Weimaraners.
